Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 1, 2026. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains how Skola collects, uses, and protects student and user data.

Information We Collect

We collect information necessary to operate the Skola platform: student names, grade level, class assignments, learning evidence (photos, videos, documents), teacher and parent contact details, and usage data to improve the platform.

How We Use Information

Student data is used solely for educational purposes: skill tracking, evidence portfolios, progress reporting, and parent communication. We never use student data for advertising, profiling, or any non-educational purpose.

Data Sharing

We do not sell student data. Data is shared only with authorised school staff and parents/guardians of the respective student. We may share anonymised, aggregated data for research and platform improvement.

Parental Consent

Parents have full control over their child's data through the Skola parent app. Consent for photo/video collection, data processing, and activity participation can be granted or revoked at any time.

Data Security

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). We follow industry best practices for access control, authentication, and infrastructure security. Regular security audits are conducted.

Data Retention

We retain student data for the duration of their enrolment at a Skola-partner school. Upon request by the school or parent, data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Backup data is purged within 90 days.

Your Rights

Parents and schools have the right to access, correct, export, and delete student data. Requests can be made through the app or by contacting our data protection team at privacy@skola.ai.

Changes to This Policy

We will notify schools and parents of any material changes to this privacy policy. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
